There is a large and loving group of people online ~ called the 'Shibaholics'.
These people began watching an online ustream cam, originating from San Francisco, in 2008. It began as a way for the owners of Kika, a female Shiba Inu, to keep an eye on her newborn puppies (The Shiba 6/A Team) while they were at work.
Well, if you know the story of how the cam caught fire (the Shiba 6 story was broadcast on NBC Nightly news, as well as on many blog sites..) and how people (millions worldwide) fell into Shiba love... you know how
The 'Puppy Cam' was born.
Shibaholics formed a bond with the cam owner 'Mr Shoes'.. 'Mr Feet'.. 'Papa Shiba'.. he had a few names.
His wife was known by her shoes ~ her maryjanes.
See, we only ever saw their feet.. or hands.
The puppies and Kika-mommy were the stars of the show.
During daylight, we'd watch the pups sleep.. a lot! Hahaa. Then there would be confetti parties (shredding their potty pads), rumbles and face eating, zooming puppies as they raced around their area.. all around zany antics.
At night, the best part came, with each litter ~ when 'Mrs Maryjanes/Mama Shoes' would climb into the puppy area and sit, legs akimbo.. the puppies clamoring for her attention, all piling into her arms/lap, swinging from her pony tail, stealing things from her pockets, chewing the buttons off her maryjanes.. hahaa. So darn cute!
Her giggle is infectious and her patience for their antics was enviable.
*heck, we all envied her! .. wanting to be in her shoes *pun :)
Now, the Carrot part of this story:
There have been three litters of shiba puppies ~ The A-team, B-team, and C-team. All pups being named by their place in the alphabet.
The carrot stuffed toy is a mainstay of each litter.
